2H Offshore is a global engineering contractor specializing in the design, engineering and integrity management of offshore structures, topsides facilities, subsea components and riser and conductor systems for the offshore oil and gas and renewables sectors.

Both market sectors require similar engineering skill sets, and our breadth of experience in offshore structures and environments allows us to provide expertise at all stages of a project : feasibility and concept design, detailed design, procurement management, fabrication support, installation support, monitoring, integrity management, asset life extension and decommissioning.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Principal Engineer with particular experience in project management and business development to support our Brazil business and to manage, further develop, and undertake engineering and design activities in the offshore energy business.

Our engineering department is experiencing a period of rapid growth as we strive to meet increasing demand in the renewables and oil and gas divisions.

As part of our team, you will manage multi-disciplinary project teams across a wide variety of offshore engineering projects, including conceptual, feasibility and FEED studies, detailed design and verification activities.

You will take a leading role on these projects and develop strong working relationships with the engineering team and our clients.

You will take responsibility to support and develop engineers within the team to deliver the technical excellence 2H expects across a wide variety of engineering projects.

The successful candidate will be based in the Rio de Janeiro area.

Duties

• Execute, guide and review analysis and design work for dynamic structures, interpreting results to form sound engineering judgements and recommendations in one or more of the following fields :
• Rigid and Flexible Risers
• Integrity Management
• Fixed and Floating Offshore Wind moorings, anchors and power cables
• Drilling, Completion and Intervention activities
• Report writing & sign off
• Proposal writing
• Project budget control and invoicing
• Apply knowledge of numerical analysis techniques including finite element analysis (FEA) and dynamic analysis of structures
• Liaise with clients and the 2H team to solve problems and establish viable solutions for systems configuration and operation
• Prepare and review project technical documentation including presentations, reports and specifications
• Participate and lead meetings and presentations to clients
• Support business development activities
• Represent 2H at conferences, expos and seminars

Required

• Degree in relevant engineering degree (mechanical, civil, petroleum, chemical)
• Fluent English
• Minimum 6-8 years’ experience in the offshore energy industry
• Track record of undertaking either riser analysis, mooring analysis, conductor analysis, installation analysis or similar in OrcaFlex or Flexcom
• Capability to oversee and review complex dynamic structural analysis based design work, interpreting results to form sound engineering judgements and recommendations
• Ability and enthusiasm to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team, with a strong sense of personal accountability and self-motivation
• Excellent communicator, in both written and verbal forms, with highly effective inter-personal skills supported by good attention to detail
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards
• Desire and ambition to achieve both technical and personal excellence by committing to personal and professional development
