MTS ( www.mtsglobal.com.br / www.mtsglobal.uk.com ) is a global exam service provider working for a variety of exam boards, and has recently started a new business venture in Brazil to run IELTS testing across the entire country, starting from a head office in São Paulo and expanding into other cities over time.

MTS is currently looking for currently active IELTS Speaking Test Examiners based anywhere in Brazil to examine IELTS Speaking test candidates, via the VCS (Videoconferencing Speaking) platform.

Job Details : Job Purpose :

Job Purpose :

• To conduct videoconference-based IELTS exam Speaking section interviews and carry out assessments for the IELTS Speaking section maintaining the standards required by the IELTS Professional Support Network (PSN) and the IELTS partners.
• Role type : Casual worker contract for piece work . No minimum guaranteed income or hours worked for the piece work completed
• Working Days : Mostly Saturdays, but some weekdays.
• Working Hours : Test taker volumes can vary, but are typically around 8-10 test takers per Examiner per day. Each speaking test takes 20 minutes to complete and assess, and 20-minute breaks are mandatory after every 6 test takers.
• Start date : End October / Start November 2024
• Reporting To : Examiner Trainer
• Location : Working from home or an office, anywhere in Brazil.
• Pay rate : From BRL 70 per test taker examined

IELTS Examiner Requirements :

• Must be one of the following :
• Already an approved and active IELTS Speaking Test Examiner with the British Council
• Already an approved and active IELTS Speaking Test Examiner with IDP Australia
• An undergraduate degree or a qualification(s) that can be demonstrated to be equivalent to an undergraduate degree.
• A recognised qualification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL / TEFL) or recognized equivalent as part of a recognised university award course.
• At least 3 years’ full time (or the equivalent part time) relevant TESOL teaching experience (minimum one-year post-certificate level qualification).

The majority of this teaching experience must relate to adult students (16 years and over).

• Evidence of a clear Certidão de Antecedentes Criminais, or Brazilian certificate of criminal history. MTS Brasil reserves the right to carry out these checks before on-boarding, and will require these to be updated on a frequency communicated to you, or at any time on request.
• Must have eligibility to live and work in Brazil

NOTE : Examiners are required to adhere to a Code of Practice and Confidentiality Undertaking and follow all directives from the Test Centre Managers and Administrators and Examiner Trainer.

Main Responsibilities :

• Conduct IELTS Exams assessments (examining and marking)
• Communicate effectively with students of all age groups and social backgrounds.
• Adhere to the IELTS Professional Support Network and IELTS partners policies.
• Participate in Examiner meetings and other relevant meetings as required.
• Maintain the reputation and integrity of IELTS, MTS and the IELTS partners at all times.
• Participate in required training and applying relevant principles in carrying out duties, including Safeguarding and Health and Safety
